On an x86 pc using debian and an SB128, as well as onboard ac97, I try to run some
program I made and compiled. It gives this error: ALSA lib timer_hw.c:269:(snd_timer_hw_open) extended read is not supported (SNDRV_TIMER_IOCTL_TREAD) ALSA lib timer_hw.c:269:(snd_timer_hw_open) extended read is not supported (SNDRV_TIMER_IOCTL_TREAD) open /dev/sequencer: No such device Segmentation fault The same source runs fine on a a G4 machine(pegasos2) with debian also, but using only ac97 sound. The segfault happens right at this line: somepointer=SDL_SetVideoMode(XRES,YRES,32,SDL_SWSURFACE); I have fooled around with some environment variables, but the segfault will not go away. As for the other error, it'll just give a different message. The soundcard works ok, as I can use it with xmms. Thank you -- http://home.earthlink.net/~pegasosppc/bahcount.html If you feel you are not properly sedated, call 348844 immediately.
