Hi There

Doom 3 worked fine for me.
I am using ubuntu 5.10 (x86_64).
Everything (including SDL) was installed via synaptic/apt-get.
- I just got the 1.3 installer from
ftp://ftp.idsoftware.com/idstuff/doom3/linux/doom3-linux-1.3.1302.x86.run
- executed it, and it created for me a installed dir at
/usr/local/games/doom3 (the installer asked me where I would like, it's
juts the default)
- copied (like the setup've asked me to do) the .pk4 files to
/usr/local/games/doom3/base
- executed doom3
that's all.

In?cio Ferrarini.

Well, actually I've just tried the demo so far, but I'm guessing if the
demo
works the full version should work as well. In any case, all I did was to
'emerge doom3-demo' (using gentoo), and it worked out of the box.

I see that the ebuild requires at least nvidia-glx 1.0.6629-r3 or
ati-drivers 8.8.25-r1 for amd64, so if your drivers are older than that,
maybe you could try to upgrade. It also requires a bunch of 32-bit
compatibility libs, but I don't think it would even start at all if you
didn't have that. Sorry I can't be of any more help.
